THE ACCURACY OF THE KOREAN TEST CHART

Abstract
The "Korean Test Chart" designed by the author was published on 1 Sep. 1964 as the first edition which was authorized by the Korean Ophthalmological society.
The sizes of every test types in the chart were measurecl in order to determine the rate of accuracy with a micrometer which minimal limit of measurement was 1/10,000 inch.
The rate of accuracy was obtained from the difference between the actual and theoretical sizea ofthe test types in percentage, and its average valueswere as follows :
1.31 (4.47-0.24) % in diameter
2.83 (6.67-0) % in thickness
2.80 (8.47-0) % in gap of the Landolt¢¥s rings
1.46 (4.35-0) % in Arabic figures
2.16 (5.55-0) % in Korean letters
Among them, the average rate of accuracy in size
of the gaps of the Landolt¢¥s rings, the most important portion to measure the viaual acuity, was proved to be lower than of any other kind of the test charts published in Korea and in Japan so far
